President Goodluck Jonathan handed
over a brown envelope to the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari
after today’s Council of State meeting.
Jonathan
gave the envelope to Buhari after a group photograph of the attendees who
included all former leaders.
The
meeting, which started at 11:30AM,
ended at 1:30PM. Today’s Council of State meeting was the last presided over by
Jonathan as Nigeria’s president. Having lost his re-election bid, Jonathan will
be attending subsequent meetings of the Council of State as a former president.
