20 Injured And 3 Killed As BIAFRAN Soldier Clash In ONITSHA

According to recent reports, about 20 persons were injured and 3 killed following a clash between Navy personnel and members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Though there have been rather conflicting reports as regards to  the  number of casualties following the clash  with the Biafra – members, some sources said about 10 persons were shot dead while other sources said  between three and  five persons were  allegedly killed when the Naval officers from the Odekpe  Naval Post , drafted to Uga junction for on the spot check,  had  a misunderstanding that led to the bloody clash near Premier Breweries Onitsha along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
The Biafra members were said to be preaching to the people of Onitsha about making Biafra a reality.
An eyewitness, who is said to be member of Biafra and pleaded to be anonymous, stated that several members of theirs  sustained injures following the clash, and  that the dead bodies of his colleagues as well as those  injured were taken to the Borromeo Hospital in Nkpor, near Onitsha.
However, all efforts to get the Commander of the Naval Post were futile as his numbers were not connecting. Hence there has been immense tension building up in Onitsha, following the incident, as eyewitnesses confirm that the attack was uncalled for in the first place.

Kanye West To Contest For US Presidential Election in 2020

Kanye West was honored in a big way during Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards by receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, an accolade previously awarded to superstars like BeyoncĂ©, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna and The Beatles throughout the show’s more than 20-year tenure.
He accepted the prestigious award but not without a 13 minute acceptance speech that blew any previous Kanye moments way out of the water.
Prior to Yeezy taking the stage, Taylor Swift  talked about the infamous 2009 VMAs Best Female Video debacle that pinned the two hit makers against each other for years to follow.
Taylor said any feud between the two was laid to rest long ago, admitting that Kanye’s 2004 College Dropout was the first album she bought on iTunes.
“I’m really happy for you and Imma let you finish but Kanye has had one of the greatest careers of all time,” Swift playfully joked as the honoree prepared to deliver his speech.

As the crowd chanted his name, West looked visibly overwhelmed before recanting his numerous regrets surrounding the career-polarizing move.
“IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD I HAVE DONE? WOULD I HAVE WORN A LEATHER SHIRT? WOULD I HAVE DRANK HALF A BOTTLE OF HENNESSY AND GAVE THE REST OF IT TO THE AUDIENCE…? IF I HAD A DAUGHTER AT THAT TIME WOULD I HAVE GONE ON STAGE AND GRABBED THE MIC FROM SOMEONE ELSE’S?” HE ASKED.

West also acknowledged the backlash he has felt throughout his outspoken career: “The contradiction is, I do fight for artists, but in that fight I somehow was disrespectful to artists. I didn't know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing,” adding, “Sometimes I feel like I died for the artists’ opinion, for the artist to be able to have an opinion after they were successful.”
And to top it all off, looks like the US might be looking “West” for the 2020 presidential election. Yes, that’s right. Kanye announced he’s running for president.
Kanye West announced he was running for president in 2020 during the MTV VMAs on Sunday.

Why I bought myself a G-Wagon-Zakki Azzay

Veteran Hausa hiphop artiste, Zakki Azzay who recently pampered himself with a G-wagon and also completed his estate in Markurdi opened up to Encomium on why he bought the G-Wagon. He said
I have always been in love with G-Wagon and I have been praying to God that I should be able to afford one before I die. I was able to afford one, a 2013 model. I was actually building an estate on a street that is named after me somewhere in Makurdi. I have eventually finished building it and moved into one of the flats recently. I am not relocating to Makurdi, I built the estate for commercial purposes. In fact, I am building another one in Lekki, Lagos where the street is also named after me, Zaki Azzay Close.
His take on extra-marital affairs?
The truth is, if you are ‘acting in love’ that would be possible but if you are ‘truly in love’, it is difficult to cheat. Being in love, you can’t even see any other woman because whatever move you are trying to make, you will end up seeing your wife/partner in all of it. And that is what real love is all about. As far as I am concerned, it is not possible for anybody to be in love and cheat at the same time.

Ini Edo Reveal Why her Marriage Broke.

Actress Ini Edo was a guest on RubbingMinds yesterday where she spoke on her failed marriage to Philip Ehiagwina. When asked to address insinuations that her marriage crashed because she picked her career over family and refused to move to the US where her ex resided, Ini Edo said;
"First of all, I got married early because I wanted to have a family so anybody wouldn’t think that I would want to chose career over family in as much as my career is also very important. Basically there would never be a particular reason. You know how these things work. Its like I said, differences. I mean, incompatibility. Not being able to reach certain compromises or finding common ground.
You know when you’re with someone, even your work partner, if you cannot find common ground or agree on certain things....sighs "she said
Asked if she was too young to get married, Ini said
"No I don't think I married too soon. I was pretty much of age. Maybe a little in a hurry. I don't think I married too soon"she said .
Asked whether distance ruined their marriage, she said
"Being together actually helps in understanding. It creates more platform to understand each other more. Maybe it would have helped. Distance plays a very important role in a relationship, no matter the difference or incompatibility, if you are together a lot, you can find a way to work things out'she said
Asked if her ex husband ever complained about her job, a hesitant Ini Edo said
"He met me an actor so I want to believe he was okay with it. Naturally I mean. Of course. My work takes my time. It does takes my time. It appears"she said Asked if she regrets her crashed marriage, she said "I try not to regret my actions so I will say it has been an experience which I have learnt a lot from. It’s made me a stronger person, it’s made me wiser and I think it has actually made me more matured. So I won’t say that I regret anything; I’ll say that I have learnt my lesson"she said.

Woman Stay inside Train because of High Rent payment

One woman became so fed up of renting that she took matters into her own hands.Following a dispute with her landlord, Leonie MĂĽller, 23, from Stuttgart, Germany, gave up her permanent abode to live on a train.

From her entire wardrobe and laptop to wash bag and textbooks, student Leonie carries everything she owns on the train with her.
And financially, she benefits from living on a train: The flat-rate ticket costs her about $380, whereas she had to pay about $450 for her previous apartment.

MĂĽller told The Washington Post via e-mail
"It all started with a dispute I had with my landlord,I instantly decided I didn't want to live there anymore — and then I realized: Actually, I didn't want to live anywhere anymore."I want to inspire people to question their habits and the things they consider to be normal, "I really feel at home on trains, and can visit so many more friends and cities. It's like being on vacation all the time," MĂĽller said.
Instead, she bought a subscription that allows her to board every train in the country for free. Now, MĂĽller washes her hair in the train bathroom and writes her college papers while traveling at a speed of up to 190 mph. She says that she enjoys the liberty she has experienced since she gave up her apartment. The TĂĽbingen University student is also in a relationship with a man in Cologne, so it suits her to live on the 190mph train and travel between his home, her mother's home in Berlin and her university.

MĂĽller frequently travels late at night, although she tries to sleep at the apartments of relatives or friends. Often, she is accommodated by her boyfriend, her mother or grandmother.
"Normally, we would have to have a long-distance relationship, but living on a train enables me to see him all the time," MĂĽller told German TV station SWR regarding her boyfriend. "Most of my friends really like the idea, although some consider it to be quite adventurous. Others, however, have reacted more negatively: They feel offended by the fact that I question the ordinary way of life and living."

One Secret About Former President Jonathan- Reuben Abati

Against the widely held perception that former President Goodluck Jonathan, was usually hooked on alcohol, during the twilight of his administration, his former spokesperson, Reuben Abati, has clarified that Jonathan doesn’t drink, adding that it’s only one of the myths about the last administration.
Abati, who made the defence of his former boss during a recent interview with Rockcity 101.9 FM, Abeokuta, Ogun State, said he only saw Jonathan drink a glass of wine during special occasions, explaining that the former President never had any episode of drunken to stupor.
Abati said: “President Jonathan does not drink. You see, that’s one of the myths about that administration and you must understand how this thing is, it’s all about perception, communication, it’s all about what goes out and it’s about stereotyping. People just stereotype people from a particular part of the country as drunkards, and they look for justification for one type of behaviour or the other.
“But I can tell you that in my 4 years of working for President Jonathan, I never found him in a bibulous situation. If he ever tasted any drink, maybe a glass of wine during special occasions. All those stories about him drinking, about President Jonathan always being berated, about bibulous situations inside the Villa, those things did not exist.
“The people must find justifications to say this is why we think this situation is this way it is. I tell you and Nigerians will remember that he is a very humble man; he is a very committed person to the Nigerian project. If you look at the results of the elections, you’ll see that he lost the elections with about 2.5 million votes or thereabout, which means that a large number of Nigerians still believed in him and also believed in his ability and his capability of his administration to move Nigeria forward. We were dealing with a democracy; the people have a right to make a choice, when the people make a choice, we respect that choice.
“And our commitment as Nigerians, whoever we may be, whatever we maybe our station, is to remain committed to Nigeria, and to support whoever has emerged and to respect the choice and the decision of Nigerians.
“This is not about witch-hunt, it’s not about criticising people, the Nigerian people have spoken and we stand by the decision of the Nigerian people. And we all support whoever is there to move Nigeria forward. So this backward looking, can we just look forward? Can we all just work together to move Nigeria forward? For me, that is where the emphasis should be, because we are all Nigerians and at the end of the day the country is more important than all of us” he said.

EFCC chairman accused of diverting N1trillion loot recovered from corrupt politicians

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been accused of diverting over N1tn recovered from corrupt politicians who forfeited their loots. A man named George Uboh recently petitioned the Senate, accusing the chairman of the anti-graft agency of diverting money recovered from corrupt politicians including former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and ex-Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.

The Senate having received the petition which was dated July 31st, ordered its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to investigate the allegations. Both the petitioner and Mr Lamorde have been invited to appear by the Senate committee at Meeting Room 120 of the New Senate Building, National Assembly Complex, on Wednesday August 26th for some questioning.

The petitioner alleged that in March 2013, the EFCC boss diverted the sum of N779m out of the total N3bn forfeited by former police chief, Tafa Balogun to the Federal Government. He also alleged that the EFCC boss conspired with some officials of the anti-graft agency to under-remit the former IG’s forfeited funds of about N5.85bn into the Consolidated Revenue Account by holding back about N2.65bn.

The petitioner assured the Senate that he was ready to provide unparalleled evidence to back his allegations against Lamorde. Both men are expected to appear before the Senate by 10am on Wednesday August 26th.
