swedish Telecom Equipment Vendor, Ericsson Laying Off 25,000 Staff

Mobile telecom gear maker Ericsson may lay off around 25,000 employees outside Sweden as part of its savings program, Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet reported on Thursday, citing unidentified sources at the company. No automatic alt text available.
Ericsson said in July it would accelerate measures to meet a target of doubling its 2016 underlying operating margin of 6 percent and that it aimed to reach an annual cost reduction run rate of at least 10 billion crowns ($1.2 billion) by mid-2018.

Ericsson has said actions will be taken primarily in service delivery and common costs while research and development would be largely unaffected.
The company faces mounting competition from China's Huawei and Finland's Nokia as well as weak emerging markets and falling spending by telecoms operators with demand for next-generation 5G technology still years away.
Svenska Dagbladet said it was not clear whether the planned layoffs included employees within its media operations, which are up for strategic review and seen by analysts as likely to be sold by the group.
"Ericsson has not communicated which specific units or countries could be affected. It is too early to talk about specific measures or exclude any country," Ericsson said in a statement on its website.

Natural Remedies For A Headache

More than 10 million people around the world have headaches frequently; headaches are the most common health complaint.  Headaches in most cases are treatable with over-the-counter medicine but can be sorted out in a natural way.  Usually if the headache pain is unbearable then you should see a doctor.

There are many reasons why you might have a headache such as fatigue, sleep deprivation, stress, common colds, viral infections and dental and sinus issues.

Here are the natural remedies that are popular in Nigeria.

Water

Getting a headache could be a sign that you are not drinking enough water, when we are dehydrated the signs don’t always show or you don’t immediately feel thirsty but the headache is a sign. The solution to this is a simple one and all you have to do is drink some water. Your body needs a litre of water every day to stay hydrated and to ensure that urinary tract infections are avoided. At the first sign of a headache make sure you drink water. Also, make sure you look back at your day to see how much caffeine you have consumed.

Lemon

Lemon is a very power ingredient that can treat a headache, the best way to consume lemon is to add it to warm water as this reduces the headache. Some headaches take place due to gas in the stomach and the warm lemon water will help resolve this. If your forehead is really throbbing with pain, you can make a lemon paste and apply it to your stress points. You can do this simultaneously and get the headache solved in a jiffy.

Oils & Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy oils are considered very helpful in eliminating a headache. Just pop over to the pharmacy or health store and purchase lavender, camomile and sweet marjoram. You can mix all these essence into carrier oil, use around 5 drops and massage it into the neck and upper back area to target the headache.

Relaxation

Stress is usually the main cause of headaches so to practice relaxation techniques is very important. You can distract yourself from the pain by keeping yourself busy but you can’t always be busy. You can meditate, engage in prayer or practice deep breathing – the more oxygen you get into your system, the more relaxed you will feel. Once you get calm after practicing your relaxation techniques try going to sleep to forget the pain.

Peppermint Essence

Peppermint isn’t just a flavour in chewing gum and toothpaste; it can also help to reduce headaches. Peppermint essence has calming and soothing properties; you can use peppermint in herbal tea and let it mix for around 10 minutes. You can also add some sugar or honey to make the tea taste better, you can also use peppermint oil to your temples to add a cooling sensation and give you instant relief. Peppermint can be inhaled to relieve symptoms of headaches by putting peppermint in steam with a towel over your head.

Apple

When you have a persistent headache, a way of reducing it is to eat a piece of apple by applying some salt and drinking some warm water. The apple has antioxidants in it which will help treat any common colds that might be causing the headache. Betel leaves are known for their cooling properties and can effectively relieve headaches. You need to grind the leaves into a fine paste and apply it to your forehead and at the same time you can chew one or two leaves to treat headaches.

Ginger
Ginger has been known to have excellent anti-inflammatory properties as it relaxes the blood vessels in the head and reduces swelling in the brain. It also activates opiates in the brain as it lessens the pain. You can ingest ginger through ginger tea which needs to take place three to four times a day to reduce the inflammation and get rid of the headache.

Samsung Galaxy S9: What We Will See

The Samsung Galaxy S8 only hit stores earlier this year, but we're already hearing rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S9, with one report claiming the phone is already in the first few stages of production.

We've put together an overview of the rumors and news we've heard so far. You'll find that below, along with everything we know about the inevitable Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.

But we've also included a list of improvements we hope Samsung will include on its next phone, because as good as the S8 is, it's not perfect.

Samsung Galaxy S9 price and release date

We so far know nothing about when the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be announced, so we'll just have to go off what Samsung has done in the past.

Samsung announced the Galaxy S8 in late March, so we'd expect it will follow up with the Galaxy S9 roughly a year later, at the end of March 2018.
But it was late in announcing the Galaxy S8 in 2017 - the company waited about a month longer than normal, so it's possible that the S9 will land around the end of February, in which case it might be launched at Mobile World Congress 2018, as that's likely to take place at that sort of time.
What we can safely predict is the Samsung Galaxy S9 is sure to be expensive, as the Galaxy S8 launched at $720, £689, AU$1,199.

Samsung Galaxy S9 news and rumors

Not much is known about the Samsung Galaxy S9, but some sources claim the company has already started work on producing its next flagship phone.
The Bell reports unnamed industry sources saying that Samsung has been hard at work on the display panels for the Galaxy S9 since late March 2017. If Samsung has started work on the S9’s display panels that’s apparently about 6 months earlier than usual. That doesn't come as a massive surprise, as many companies start work on their phones before one generation has even been announced, but it's good to get the rumors flowing already about the next Samsung phone.

Samsung and Qualcomm have also started working on a new mobile chip according to The Investor. The chip is apparently likely to be called the Snapdragon 845 - up from the Snapdragon 835 found in some versions of the Galaxy S8 - and is supposedly going to be used in the Samsung Galaxy S9.

So far we don't know anything about the power or performance of the Snapdragon 845 chipset, but we'd wager it won't be the only one Samsung uses, with a new Exynos chip likely headed to S9 handsets in some parts of the world.
And speaking of a new Exynos chip, Samsung has revealed that it has developed LTE modems for the next generation of its chips. Why should you care? Because these modems support theoretical download speeds of 1.2Gbps - faster than any other phone, meaning you could potentially download an HD movie within just 10 seconds. And the Galaxy S9 is sure to get some new features too. Back in late 2016, Samsung licensed a new glass coating technology that makes water bounce off your smartphone screen. Samsung plans to include this tech in an upcoming phone, so it may mean the Galaxy S9 is much easier to use in the rain. Watch the video below to see how the technology works.
As you can imagine, the rumors remain thin on the ground at the moment, but we'll be scooping our way through the best and worst of them - so bookmark this page if you ever want to know the very latest on the Samsung Galaxy S9.

Why You Should Never Put Your Feet 0n Your Car Dashboard

Audra Tatum ,a mother of three from Walker County, Georgia, would always lean back and relax with her feet up on the dashboard.

Her husband warned her about the dangerous habit, but Tatum didn't care — it was comfortable. Now, she wishes she listened to him.
"All my life I had my legs crossed and my foot on the dash," Tatum told CBS News. "My husband always told me, 'You're going to get in a wreck someday, and you're going to break your legs.'"
Tatum assured him he was wrong.
"I'll put my foot down in time," she would always reply.
But two years ago, on August 2, 2015,the couple was heading to her parents' house about 4 miles away to pick up her two sons when a car pulled in front of her husband and they T-boned him. Everyone was able to walk away from the scene with scrapes and bruises, except for Tatum.

"The airbag went off, throwing my foot up and breaking my nose," Tatum explained. "I was looking at the bottom of my foot facing up at me."
Tatum's ankle, femur and arm were all broken by the impact.
"Basically my whole right side was broken, and it's simply because of my ignorance," Tatum said. "I'm not Superman. I couldn't put my foot down in time."
Tatum underwent several surgeries and weeks of physical therapy. It took her over a month to start walking again.
Two years later, she's still facing obstacles.

"I can't do my career as an EMS. I can't lift patients anymore," she explained. "I can't stand more than 4 hours at a time. Once I'm at that 4-hour mark I'm in tears."
Now the mom is using her story to warn others.

"I keep telling everybody, you don't want this life," she said. "You don't want the pain and agony every day."

A local fire department is helping to spread her story to demonstrate the serious consequences of resting your foot on a dashboard.

As she continues to recover, Tatum plans on telling her story to even more members of her community — and she hopes people get the message.

"If I can save one person from doing this and they're not going through it, that would be wonderful," Tatum said.

Properties Worth Millions Traced To Allison Madueke

The former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke has so far had N47.2 Billion and $487.5 Million in cash and properties traced to her by operatives of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Then read this:

From time immemorial, precious metals – gold, silver and sparkling stones such as diamonds have delighted women. Relationships have been built and destroyed, wars fought for and reconciliations cemented with gold and precious stones. Not too far back in history, Liberia was the theater of war over Blood Diamonds.

Unlike Liberia however, the Nigerian nation is not at war. But, it seems Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, until recently, Minister of Petroleum Resources, going by the sheer amount of her acquisition of gold and diamonds, may have been fighting a spirited war against millions of compatriots who are heavily and unevenly yoked by crass poverty. To boot, the former minister is accused of having stolen – in broad daylight – the money that funded her acquisitive binge.
A search of one of Alison-Madueke’s palatial residences in Abuja, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, turned up boxes of gold, silver and diamond jewellery, worth several million pounds sterling.
Apart from the jewellery, the EFCC, Nigeria’s foremost anticorruption agency, has traced N47.2 Billion and $487.5 Million in cash and properties to the former Minister of Petroleum Resources in Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
The former minister who has been in London since the birth of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, has however continued to deny any financial misdeed. She insists she is being severely maligned and persecuted by the EFCC. But, on the strength of weighty evidences placed before Nigerian courts, there are a string of judicial pronouncements ordering the forfeiture of all allegedly ill-gotten wealth to Alison-Madueke’s former employers, the Federal Government of Nigeria.
One of the constitutional requirements to be appointed to public office in Nigeria, is the total declaration of all personal assets. It does seem like that provision was observed more in the breach by Alison-Madueke.

The EFCC, in the course of investigation, traced another property valued at $37.5m to the former minister in Banana Island, Lagos. She was said to have purchased the 15-storey building, which comprises 18 flats and six penthouses, between 2011 and 2012from the developers, YF Construction and Real Estate. The property was allegedly acquired in the name of a shell company, Rusimpex Limited, which is managed by one Afamefuna Nwokedim, Principal Partner, Stillwaters Law Firm, Lagos.
On August 7, 2017, Justice Chuka Obiozor, a vacation judge sitting at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, ordered the final forfeiture of a $37.5m (N11.75bn) (Eleven Billion, Seven Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) property on Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos allegedly belonging to Diezani Alison-Madueke. The order followed an expatriate application filed on July 17, 2017 by the EFCC.
At the last adjourned sitting on July 19, 2017, counsel to the EFCC, A.B.C. Ozioko, while moving the ex-parte application, had urged the court to order the forfeiture of the total sum of US$2, 740,197.96 and N84, 537,840.70 respectively found by the Commission in Rusimpex USD account No. 1013612486 domiciled in Zenith Bank Plc suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities. Ozioko had also urged the court to order an interim forfeiture of the assets and property.
Ruling on the applications, Justice Obiozor had ordered the respondents- Deziani, Afamefuna Nwokedi and Rusimpex Limited- to show cause within 14 days why the properties should not be forfeited to the Federal Government.

The judge had further ordered the publication of the interim order in any national newspaper for the respondents or anyone who is interested in the property to appear before the court to show cause within 14 days why the final order of the property should not be made in favour of the Federal Government.
At the resumed hearing on August 7, counsel to the EFCC argued that the failure of the second and third respondent, Nwokedi and Rusimex meant that “they are not willing to contest the application”.
In his ruling, Justice Obiozor ordered the final forfeiture of the property to the Federal government, in view of the failure of any interested parties or persons to contest the interim forfeiture order as published in a national newspaper by the Commission. The court also ordered the permanent forfeiture of the sums of US$2, 740,197.96 and N84, 537,840.70 respectively realized as rent on the property.

But, by far the most numbing, record-shattering acquisitions of Alison-Madueke, is to be found in the ritzy, nouveaux riches playground of Banana Island, Lagos. It consists of two apartments at the Bella Vista Court. The apartments which are Penthouses, are located on Block C-5, Flat 21, Plot 1, Zone N. For them, a $350 Million (Three Hundred and Fifty Million US Dollar) hole was allegedly dug in the Nigerian treasury on November 22, 2011, by Alison-Madueke.

Trump's Evangelical Adviser: God's OK With U.S. Bombing North Korea

One of President Trump’s Evangelical Advisers says that “...God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un” and that he can use nuclear missiles to do it. Buzz60

Texas pastor Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump's evangelical advisers, said that God has given the president "full control" to take out North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
In a statement to CBN News Tuesday, the First Baptist Dallas pastor wrote that a biblical passage in the book of Romans endowed "rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil."

"In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un," Jeffress told CBN News. "I’m heartened to see that our president — contrary to what we’ve seen with past administrations who have taken, at best, a sheepish stance toward dictators and oppressors — will not tolerate any threat against the American people."

Jeffress' comments were made public the same day Trump promised "fire and fury" on the reclusive nation and its leader if it didn't abandon its nuclear program. North Korea responded to Trump's aggressive stance with a threat to strike the U.S. territory of Guam.Citing Romans 13, Jeffress told The Washington Post Wednesday that the passage "gives the government … the authority to do whatever, whether it’s assassination, capital punishment or evil punishment to quell the actions of evildoers like Kim Jong Un.”
Jeffress, who is no stranger to controversy, has drawn criticism over the years for his views on religion, Muslims and homosexuality. He delivered a morning sermon on Trump's inauguration, comparing the president to biblical figure Nehemiah.
"The first step of rebuilding the nation was the building of a great wall," Jeffress said in the January sermon at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, according to The Post. "God instructed Nehemiah to build a wall around Jerusalem to protect its citizens from enemy attack. You see, God is NOT against building walls!"
