The crisis in the western region
1962 among the Action Group (AG) members mainly between Chief Obafemi Awolowo
and SL Akintola which led to the broken up of the said party. In the process of
settled the matter by the House of Assembly at Ibadan
and to rectify the new government in the western region, the fight broke up in
the House, many members of the House and ministers wounded while the mace that
represent the symbol of authority was broken. Many jumped through windows to
safe guides their lives. As it is in 1962 as also in 2014
Whenever history repeats itself
like this, there is danger ahead. We must be very careful. It is not too late
for us to retrace our steps.
