Mourinho, Guardiola Clash In China

For all those who desperately want to see how a premier league clash between incoming Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho and newly appointed Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola would look like, they don’t have to wait for long because the archrivals will pitch their teams against each other in a pre-season championship in China.
According to reports from the Daily Mail UK on Friday, both Manchester teams have entered for the International Championship Cup which is slated for July in either of Shanghai or Beijing, capital of China.Mourinho, Guardiola Clash In ChinaThe British tabloid reports that while Guardiola is uncomfortable with the development, the ‘Special One’ is looking forward to it like crazy. Indeed, Guardiola wanted a change in City’s pre-season arrangements according to Daily Star UK on Thursday, but the club’s management told frankly that they would not have that because they are being paid several millions to play in the International Champions Cup. So he’s stuck with Mourinho.
While the City side of the arrangement has been concluded, Manchester United is yet to fully finalze the deal. But it is expected to, Daily Mail reports.
“Negotiations with United, who are expected to be in China for 10 days, but who must fly back from the Far East in good time for Wayne Rooney’s testimonial against Everton at Old Trafford on August 3, are close to being finalized,” the tabloid reports.
Friday’s reports say that the match between the two rival teams and tacticians will be played on either of July 29 or 30, 2016.
It should however be noted that the two coaches have met 16 times in the past with Guardiola emerging victorious seven times and Mourinho three while the remaining six games ended in stalemates.
