Education helps a great deal in reducing poverty. With good education one can make a good career for oneself and earn plenty of money. These hip-hop stars have proved that people without formal education can still make it in the entertainment industry.

Shawn Corey Carter, known by his stage name Jay-Z, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. He is one of the most financially successful hip-hop artists and entrepreneurs in America.This American rapper is one of the most financially successful hip-hop artists in the world. He dropped out of school and started selling crack in his neighborhood. Today he owns a record label. In 2014 Forbes estimated his net worth to be around $520 million, making him the 3rd richest rapper on the planet.

50 Cent

Curtis James Jackson III, better known by his stage name 50 Cent, is an American rapper, entrepreneur, investor, and actor from New York City, New York. He rose to fame with the release of his albums Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Massacre.This American rapper was forced out of high school. He was busted for carrying a weapon to school. He started selling drugs when he was 15. He was shot at and was struck by nine bullets in 2000. Meeting Jam Master Jay changed his life. Eminem and Dr. Dre also played a significant role in his career. Today he has many popular rap albums to his credit and a net worth of $140 million.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known by his stage name Eminem and by his alter ego Slim Shady, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor.This world-renowned rapper spent three years in ninth grade due to bad grades. He dropped out of high school when he was 17. Today he is an immensely successful rapper, entrepreneur and record producer. His fans call him ‘Rap God’. He is one of the best selling artists of the 2000s in the US. His net worth is estimated at $170 million.

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, better known as Nas, is an American rapper, songwriter and actor. He is the son of jazz musician Olu Dara. This American rapper is the son of jazz musician Olu Dara. Even though he is famous for his scholarly lyrics, he never made it to high school. He was inducted into local street culture and lost interest in formal education. He dropped out of eighth grade, but educated himself on African history and religions. He started rapping, since 1994 he has released eight consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums and has sold over 25 million records worldwide.
