Why Working with Kiefer Sutherland Made Freddie Prinze Jr. Want to Quit Acting

PHOTO: Kiefer Sutherland, left, is pictured on May 6, 2014 in London. Freddie Prinze, Jr., right, is pictured in a March 2014 episode of "Bones."
Freddie Prinze Jr. was a can't-miss movie star in the late 1990's with hits like "She's All That" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
The 38-year-old father of two grew into different roles on TV and film until he co-starred in "24" alongside Kiefer Sutherland in 2010 -- a role that almost led him to quit acting, Prinze told ABC News.
"I did '24,' it was terrible. I hated every moment of it," Prinze said. "Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That's not me talking trash, I'd say it to his face, I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."
He continued, "I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped."
Prinze, who was at San Diego Comic-Con while promoting his new Disney XD series "Star Wars Rebels," dropped off the map for a while and even ventured into other projects.
"I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ's sake and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer," he said. "But, at least he was cool and tall. I didn't have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Just put the guy on an apple box or don't hire me next time. You know I'm 6 feet and he's 5'4."
As for Sutherland, who was also at Comic-Con promoting "24: Live Another Day," he's back on "24" and Prinze has made appearances on "Bones," among other hits shows.
In an interview with Parade in 2009, Sutherland had nothing but positive things to say about working with Prinze.
"We have some great actors joining us — Mykelti Williamson is the head of CTU, Freddie Prinze Jr. is playing my partner," Sutherland said of season 8. "So, it’s this great balance between something that’s new and what fans will find familiar.”
A request for comment from Sutherland's rep has not been returned to ABC.

Arik Halts Flights To Liberia and Sierra Leone Over Ebola Virus

Flights spokesman for Arik Air, Mr. Banji Ola, has announced that Arik Air will be suspending its operations to Monrovia (Liberia) and Freetown (Sierra Leone) effectively from July 28, 2014 until further notice.

Banji said, "We are taking this important step as a concerned corporate organisation bearing the interest of Nigerians at heart and this decision is a pre-cautionary measure aimed at safeguarding the precious lives of Nigerians."
He said the airline acknowledged the steps taken by the Federal Government to prevent the spread of the deadly Ebola virus and as a Nigerian operator that had halted its flight into the two countries, it would also suggest to the Nigerian government that all in-bound flights into the country, which originate from any of the two Ebola-affected countries, be immediately suspended.

Second American Infected With Ebola

A US aid worker has been infected with the deadly Ebola virus while treating victims of the disease at a hospital in West Africa.

Nancy Writebol, a missionary sent by the Calvary Church in North Carolina, becomes the second American citizen to contract the virus after Dr Kent Brantly, a doctor also working at an Ebola centre in the capital of Liberia, Monrovia.
On Saturday, Samaritan's Purse announced that American doctor Kent Brantly had become infected. The 33-year-old former Indianapolis resident had been treating Ebola patients in Monrovia and started feeling ill, spokeswoman Melissa Strickland said. Once he started noticing the symptoms last week, Brantly isolated himself.
Brantly, the medical director for Samaritan Purse's Ebola Consolidated Case Management Center in Monrovia has been in the country since October, Strickland said.
"When the Ebola outbreak hit, he took on responsibilities with our Ebola direct clinical treatment response, but he was serving in a missionary hospital in Liberia prior to his work with Ebola patients," she said.

Boko Haram abducts Cameroon deputy prime minister’s wife

The Cameroonian military says members of the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram have abducted the wife of the country’s deputy prime minister in the northern Cameroonian town of Kolofata.
A local religious leader and mayor was also abducted from the same town.
Separately, at least five people in northern Nigeria were killed in a blast – residents suspect Boko Haram.
Boko Haram has stepped up cross-border attacks into Cameroon in recent weeks, as the army was deployed to the region.
Militants have kidnapped foreign nationals in northern Cameroon before, including a French family and Chinese workers.
‘Critical situation’
The wife of Deputy Prime Minister Amadou Ali and her maid were taken in “a savage attack” on his home by Boko Haram militants on Sunday, Information Minister Issa Tchiroma said
But Mr Ali, who was breaking his fast for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan at the time of the attack, managed to escape to a neighbouring town, regional commander Col Feliz Nji Formekong told the Reuters news agency.

French Catholic priest Georges Vandenbeusch was taken hostage in northern Cameroon and released over a month later
“The situation is very critical here now, and as I am talking to you, the Boko Haram elements are still in Kolofata town in a clash with our soldiers,” he added.
A local politician and his family were also abducted in a separate attack.
Meanwhile, Nigerian police say five people were killed when a bomb was thrown at worshippers as they were leaving a church in Nigeria’s main northern city of Kano on Sunday.
A young female suicide bomber also wounded five police officers as she rushed towards them and blew herself up in a separate incident, they add.
Charges
Cameroon’s long and porous border with Nigeria means Boko Haram fighters can come and go at will, attacking police stations and villages, and spreading terror throughout the region, says BBC Africa editor Mary Harper.
The group has attacked Cameroon three times in as many days in the past week, killing at least four soldiers, Reuters reports.

On Friday, more than 20 members of the militant group were jailed in Cameroon on charges of possessing illegal firearms and plotting an insurrection.
The armed group is seeking to establish an Islamists state in Nigeria.
Earlier this week, Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad and Niger agreed to form a 2,800-strong regional force to tackle Boko Haram militants.
Efforts to step up regional co-operation gained momentum after Boko Haram caused an international outcry by abducting more than 200 girls from a boarding school in north-eastern Nigeria.
The girls are thought to be held in the vast Sambisa forest, along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.
Many Nigerian civilians in border towns have fled to Cameroon to escape from the Boko Haram attacks

19-year-old boy is Nigeria’s youngest certified pilot!

Daniel Adeyelika
19-year-old First Officer, Daniel Adeyelika is the youngest certified pilot in Nigeria and he flies the Boeing 737, 600 series to 900 series.
Adeyelika, who was born in England, had his pilot training at Delta flight school, Dallas, Texas where he was the youngest in his class but still managed to come top of the class at the end of the 9-month duration.
He said, “I did my flight training in Texas, Dallas with Delta Flight School for nine (9) months. I knew I went there for a reason and not to play, I needed all the concentration, I go to school from Monday to Sunday. My Private Pilot License (PPL) was for one and a half month and my International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) was for three years.”
Daniel says he was never subjected to taunts and teases by his much-older classmates in flight school, but his age once proved to be an encumbrance when he was told to wait till he turned 18 before he could take a certain exam.
However, he says he faced a major challenge when he was sent to Amsterdam for his type rating.
“The challenge basically was when I was sent to Amsterdam for my Type Rating, it was really the toughest period I cant lie to you because it was not an easy task. I actually thought I was going to fail because I was the weakest in the class at the beginning but I came top of the class at the end. I kept telling my self “I can do it.” God really saw me through. The exercise lasted for one month.”

Bad Hygiene Saved Lives: Underwear Suicide Bomber Failed Because He Wore Same Pants For 2 WEEKS

Underwear bomber Umar Abdulmutallab failed in his bid to blow up a transatlantic flight because he had been wearing the same pants for TWO WEEKS, it’s been revealed.
Nigerian Abdulmutallab was sentenced to life in prison without parole after he pleaded guilty to the Christmas Day 2009 plot, which saw him board an Amsterdam to Detroit flight with a bomb in his underwear.
Thankfully the explosives failed to fully detonate – something a US security official yesterday claimed was down to how long he had been wearing his pants.
Asked why Abdulmutallab’s attempt had failed, John Pistole from the Transportation Security Administration told the Aspen Security Forum: “He had had the device with him for over two weeks.”
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab

His interviewer Catherine Herridge then asked if the device was “damp”, to which Pistole replied: “It was degraded… it’s efficacy was degraded.”
Herridge then quipped: “Thank god for bad hygiene.”
Abdulmutallab admitted his attempted attack was inspired by Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical American-born cleric and leading al Qaida figure who was killed by a US drone strike in 2011.

Nigerians die in Cameroon’s detention

Two Nigerian fishermen died in Cameroon’s detention while three others regained their freedom after spending one year in captivity, a member representing Okobo Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. Efefiong Antigha, has said.
The men were said to have been abducted by the Cameroonian gendarmes as they were fishing in the high seas between the border of Nigeria and Cameroon.
Antigha, who disclosed this in Uyo on Wednesday, condemned the continuous harassment, unlawful arrest and detention of Nigerians who eke out their livelihood through fishing in the seas.
Addressing journalists when some residents of his constituency who had regained freedom from Cameroonian’s detention paid him a visit, the lawmaker urged the Federal Government not to sit back and allow the gendarmes assert authority over its maritime boundary.
He said, “The continuous harassment, unlawful arrest, detention, and killing of innocent Nigerians by Cameroonian gendarmes must be resisted.
“It is painful that most of the victims are people of my constituency. We are fishermen; we have the right to fish in the Nigerian territorial water, but often- times gendarmes are seen to be crossing to Nigerian territory to intimidate, arrest and loot fishermen of their catch.
“We are calling on the Federal Government to warn its Cameroonian counterpart to stop harassing our fishermen in Nigerian territorial water. If the Federal Government delays action in this direction, gendarmes will continue to harass, arrest, detain and kill these Nigerians.”
One of the victims, Mr. Stephen Etim, said the gendarmes arrested them in March 2013 while fishing in the high sea within the Nigerian territory.
