Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has urged Arsene Wenger to bring back one
of the club's ex-players as he believes that will go a long way to boost
the performance of the team.
The Frenchman who is now a pundit at Sky Sports
emphasized on the need for Arsenal to get a strong defensive midfielder
who will protect the Gunners' back four, and he believes the right man
for the job is ex-Arsenal midfielder Alex Song who left the Emirates
Stadium for Barcelona in the summer of 2012. Song is currently on loan
at West Ham United and has really impressed since joining them in August
2014.
“Song would improve Arsenal, That is the type of player you want in front of your back four” said Henry
“Song
is the captain of the boat. He protects the back four. You need someone
to dictate, put players into position, make little fouls by kicking
someone – like Claude Makelele used to do.”
Thierry Henry has got a point here but some of the questions that still
await answers are "will Wenger want to re-sign Song?", "will Alex Song
want a return back to his old club?" and coupled with the fact that many
Arsenal fans may not want him again after leaving them to suffer the
pain he inflicted on them after leaving the Gunners back in 2012. What
is your say on this?
