Man Sells Wife For N800,000 To Ritualists

According to the Plateau State Police command, a man who goes by the name Maimako Shephang from Kwalla of Quanpan LGA of Plateau state is being interrogated for selling off his wife to ritualists.

The man (in the middle) was said to have lured his wife into the bush after deceiving her they were going to look for firewood.

But on getting to the bush, the man handed over the wife, Agnes to two men in masks.

The men then asked her if she is a spinster or not but the woman told them that the man who handed her over to them is her husband.

On hearing this, the men freed the woman because obviously she was not a virgin as what was required for the sacrifice.

According to CP Nasiru Oki, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, this is a case of attempted culpable homicide.

“I asked the man how much he sold his wife for and he said eight hundred thousand naira (N800, 000) and was paid the sum of four hundred thousand naira (N400, 000) so far.

The man who is currently awaiting trial however blamed the devil for his action and asked me to pray for him.”
