A jealous boyfriend left his girlfriend disfigured after biting her during a kiss.Rhys Culley had asked Chanttelle Ward,18 if she loved him before he sank his teeth into her face during the horrific attack.
The 23-year-old was jealous and insecure about what she would do while he was working away. She told jurors during the trial Culley had tried to kiss her and asked her if she still loved him before the bite.
She said:

'He put his whole mouth around my lips and pulled, I thought that my whole lip had come off. There was blood everywhere.'

They had been celebrating Miss Ward's mother's birthday and at about 10.30pm Miss Ward,and her aunt Susan Stewart shared a taxi home, dropping her aunt off first.
When they got back to her house,he brought up a conversation that his girlfriend had had with another man on Facebook earlier in the month.He then took her phone off her in a bid to look through her Facebook messages.When he found that the messages were no longer there he became angry and started to shout at her, accusing her of having something to hide.
At this point,she told the court, she realised that something was wrong and that this wasn't a 'normal' argument for the pair, who had been together for almost two and a half years.
She became scared and lifted her phone to call the defendant's mother to ask her to come and get him.
But Culley is said to have taken the phone from his victim, he also locked the doors so that she couldn't escape.

Later, when her phone was left unattended she made an emergency call but Culley again took the phone from her.
After Culley had bitten her, he 'rubbed his face in hers, smearing the blood across her face and then he stuck his tongue into her mouth'. When the police arrived they saw that they both had blood on them and over their faces.'
Culley was arrested and Miss Ward was taken to hospital to have her injuries examined.She suffered not only the injuries to her mouth, but bruising to her arms and body, a scratch to her left breast and bruising of the face and ear.
During his evidence Culley said he did not mean to harm his 'beautiful' girlfriend, who he knew he was lucky to have.He was found guilty after a trial.
He will be sentenced next month and has now been remanded in custody

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Finally Speaks: Denies Adultery

The founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has denied the allegation of adultery leveled against him by his wife, Anita.

His counsel, Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), described the allegation as “wicked and malicious”, and an attempt to bring him (Pastor Chris) and the church (Believers Love World aka Christ Embassy) “to public opprobrium and ridicule.”

Pinheiro, in a statement on Wednesday said the adultery allegation “currently circulating in the media was nothing but a complete distortion of facts in the pending proceedings in the United Kingdom”.

It advised media establishments to verify the authenticity of their stories before publication, saying unless they desist from making such further publications, they would take appropriate legal actions against them to protect Oyakhilome’s reputation and that of the church.

The statement titled: “In the matter of malicious falsehood against Rev. Chris Oyakhilome and the Christ Embassy Church” said: “The attention of our client, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome and the church, the Christ Embassy, has been drawn to the wave of false, malicious and fabricated stories being published in the print and electronic media about his person, the church and a matrimonial cause between him and his wife.

“Our client is seriously concerned that under the guise of reporting a divorce proceeding involving him, publishers resorted to an unjustified and malicious attack on his reputation for reasons not unconnected with the respective publishers’ selfish motives of prospect of materials and financial advantage attendant to the wide circulation their distorted and fabricated stories would enjoy.

“The publishers decided to fabricate facts including (but not limited) to allegation of adultery against our client, with the wicked and malicious intention of bringing his person and the church to public opprobrium and ridicule.

“It is our client’s instructions to inform the public and particularly warn the concerned media houses that the news or story circulating in the media is nothing but a complete distortion of the facts in the pending proceedings in the United Kingdom, to the knowledge of the publishers”.

The nation’s media has kept tab on the divorce saga since it broke out last month.

The scandal has shattered the image of the Oyakhilomes, the celebrated couple and co-authors of a christian daily devotional, ‘Rhapsody of Realities’

As at last check, the church has deleted the profile of Pastor Anita from its website, while she has ruled out any possibility of continuing matrimony with Pastor Chris.

Rumours about Tupac Shakur is alive go viral

Although American rapper, Tupac Amaru Shakur, was declared dead as far back as 1996, conspiracy theories that the enigmatic rapper is alive and in hiding have refused to go away.‎

Social media is currently abuzz with reports that 2pac is not just alive but was recently spotted among Hollywood celebrities including pop diva, Beyonce Knowles.‎

The rumour mill started buzzing following a report by satire website, Huzler’s report insinuating the ‘rapper comes out of hiding after 18 years.’

According to Huzler’s report, ‘Tupac Shakur who was supposedly killed at the age of 25 is now admitting he has been hiding this whole time. It was Shakur who in 1996 was reportedly attending a special event in Las Vegas, the Mike Tyson-Benson fight, and then afterwards was brutally murdered, the report began.‎‎’

‎Posting along with it an image of Tupac, also known as Makaveli, with Beyonce, ‎the report continues: ‘A day or so later he is autopsied, then quickly cremated. There is no funeral. Nor is there any record of a tribute or memorial. Now we know exactly why it was because Tupac Shakur was never killed it is unclear why he has been hiding. This story is still under development but Tupac has already been spotted with Celebrities.’‎‎

The report is a complete hoax.

Tupac was clearly shot four times at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vega on September 7, 1996 and died six days later while undergoing treatment.‎

But that has not stopped repeated fake reports from grabbing global attention.‎ Among reports circulating at present is one that 2pac will resurface on September 13, 2014. One hopeful fan wrote: ‘Reading conspiracies about how Tupac is still alive and will come back September 13, 2014. The more I read the more I believe it.’

Conductor Bites Passenger’s Ear Over N20

A 32-year old conductor, Taye Ajayi has been arrested and charged before Lagos court for biting off the ear of a passenger over N20 in Egbeda area of Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria.
 

According to P.M NEWS report, the incident happened at Micon bus stop in Egbeda after a disagreement between Ajayi and the passenger, Kabiru Olugbemi.
It was gathered that Olugbemi boarded a bus and paid Ajayi  N30 instead of the N50 the conductor demanded.
When Olugbemi got to Micon bus stop en route Egbeda, he alighted from the bus but just as he tried to walk away, an angry Ajayi reportedly grabbed his left her and bit it off, throwing it on the ground.
An eyewitness informed that the victim bled profusely and was rushed to a hospital with the falling ear where a doctor confirmed that the ear was dead and cannot be fixed back.
After the matter was reported to Idimu police Station, Ajayi was arrested and charged to court.
He was charged with inflicting permanent injury on the victim under the Criminal Code. When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding magistrate, Mr P.E.Nwaka granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he fulfills his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 6 October, 2014.

Arsenal have completed the signing of England international Danny Welbeck from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old England striker, who has signed a long-term deal, can play all across the front line and will boost the attacking options of a side who recently lost striker Olivier Giroud, their leading goalscorer last season, for four months with a broken leg.

An elderly woman who was in the same hospital room with Late Dr Enemuo who treated ECOWAS diplomat,Olu-Ibukun Koye ,has tested positive to Ebola.She is one of the three persons quarantined in Oduoha, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.She contracted the virus in Good Heart Hospital, the health facility where Iyke Enemuo,died last week

The two others – a doctor and a pharmacist who are members of staff of Sam Steel Clinic,founded by late Enemou,tested negative.

The Commissioner of health also said,the sister of Late Enemou who ran to Abia state has been found .He said....

She had earlier run to Abia State apparently because of fear of being stigmatized.We were able to trace her with the help of my counterpart   in Abia State. She developed feverish symptoms and she had been admitted at the isolation unit  for observation and treatment. She is among the 50 high risk contacts on our list. We decided to take her to the isolation unit to make assurance surer.We are currently running a test on her and the result will be out by Tuesday(today) or thereabout. We chose to isolate her because we don’t want to go through the same experience we had with   Olu-Ibukun.”

 I told you yesterday(Sunday) that we had three patients, and out of the three, the result came out; two of them were negative while one was positive. The two negative ones have left the center.We discharged them but we will repeat the tests because they are still within the 21 days circle of the virus. We pray that they remain negative.The one who is positive is an elderly woman that was in the same hospital with the late Dr. Enemuo. In fact, they were in the same room. She is there ( the quarantine center) now.”

 “We have decided that within this week, Dr. Enemuo and other high risk corpses in the UPTH mortuary would be buried, according to the World Health Organization protocols.
“That means that the corpses will not leave Port Harcourt . They will be buried under the supervision of the EOC, Ministry of Health officials, and officials of WHO so that we don’t expose the relatives to danger.We will take care of all the safety protocols ourselves. The families will be there but we will not allow them touch the corpses.
“The families can hold their parties if they choose to, but they will not be allowed to come close to the bodies. We will take maximum precaution to combat the spread of the virus.”

Christ Embassy Church Issues Gets Hotter .

The crisis rocking the Christ Embassy Church is about to get messier as The Nigerian Times claims that Rev. Ken Oyakhilome, younger brother of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of the Church has also been accused of fornication and adultery.
Last week, reports emerged in the media that Rev. Anita, wife of the charismatic and ‘pastorpreneuer,’ popularly known as Pastor Chris, had filed for divorce in the UK, citing ‘adultery’ and ‘unreasonable behaviour.’ As the news made the round, it was met with disbelief by members of the Christ Embassy Church who revere Pastor Chris and were in the dark on the marital crises facing the couple.
Now the scandal may even get worse. Pastor Chris’ younger brother, known in the Church circle as Rev. Ken, was alleged to have impregnated a South African lady, name withheld, a member of the Church in Randburg, Guateng, which is the headquarters of Christ Embassy, South Africa. Rev. Ken, used to be the regional pastor of Christ Embassy in charge of South Africa until a few years when he was transferred to the branch of the church in Texas, USA.
The Nigerian Times’s sources say the romance between Rev. Ken and the member was an open secret among members of the Church in South Africa and the alleged pregnancy of the lady was said to have ruffled feathers among the top echelons of church but was hushed in order to prevent a scandal. The lady, according to sources, aborted the child with the knowledge of leaders of the church.
Like his elder brother, Rev. Ken has lived apart from his wife Pastor Ose for over ten years now. Pastor Ose used to manage the Okota, Lagos branch of the Church while her husband, Ken was the regional pastor in South Africa. The couple still lives apart today as Pastor Ose now manages the Church in South Africa while her husband, Ken is in Texas, running the church there.
Although the alleged romance between Rev Ken and the said Sister, which resulted in pregnancy, was kept a secret, the crisis in the Church involving Pastor Chris and his wife Anita, had led to many of such secrets tumbling out. Some members of the Church unhappy with happenings there had set up Facebook page, Where is Rev Anita, through which they vent their frustrations about the secrecy with which the church is run and some of the allegedly ungodly things happening there.

Our darling Rev Ken, it looks like Durex, Trojan, and Gold circle condoms etc have all finished in the market because of ….May God have mercy but we need to obtain the mercy.”
Meanwhile, the London branch of the Christ Embassy Church is undergoing a major crisis which had led the Charity Commission, the body licensed to regulate charities in the UK, to take over its financial administration through the appointment of an Interim Manager. The body accused the Church Trustees of “serious concerns about the financial management of the Church, including in particular large connected payments. Since then a books and records inspection has been carried out and the regulator has obtained information from and met the trustees, however, the regulator’s concerns about the financial management of the charity have not been resolved.”
The Commission therefore used its powers under the UK Charities Act to appoint Mr. Rod Weston of Mazars as Interim Manager of the charity to the exclusion of the charity’s trustees as a temporary and protective measure. The implication is that Mr Weston is now in charge of the financial management of the Christ Embassy, UK and will deal with all matters relating to finances, to the exclusion of the pastors and staff of the Church.
A similar thing had occurred to another Nigerian-owned church, the Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC pastored by Mathew Ashimolowo, which necessitated his relocation to Nigeria from the UK. Also the UK government barred Nigerian Pastor, David Oyedepo from entering the country, allegedly because of some unwholesome practices of its church.

More Ebola Case in Lagos-Minister of Health Confirm

One more person in Lagos has contracted Ebola and is currently receiving treatment at the isolation ward at Yaba.

Minister of health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed on Monday evening. This means Nigeria has had 17 cases in all while Lagos currently has two Ebola patients, one addition to the only one announced on August 26.

The minister made the confirmation while clarifying the opening speech he delivered earlier in the morning at the emergency meeting of the National Council on Health at the Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, where he gave the total number of EVD cases as 16.

Danny Welbeck is undergoing a medical at Arsenal ahead of a proposed transfer, according to Sky sources.

The Manchester United forward was widely expected to join Tottenham before Monday's deadline but could now be on his way to their north London rivals.
It is not yet clear whether Arsenal are chasing a loan deal or a permanent move.
Arsene Wenger again insisted on Sunday he had enough options to cover the loss of Olivier Giroud, who is out until the New Year with a broken leg.
But the Arsenal manager did say he would remain "active" in the market right up until the deadline, and news of a move for Welbeck comes with five hours of the window remaining.
Welbeck went to the World Cup with England this summer but is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal.
The 23-year-old's sole start this season came in the League Cup defeat at MK Dons, and United have since struck a deal to sign Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco.

Ericsson-LG and SK Telecom to collaborate on network virtualisation initiative, 5G readiness the aim

The Swedish vendor, Ericsson and LG today announced a pledge with SK Telecom, to cooperate on R&D aimed at utilising Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) and cloud, in a move aimed towards preparing the next generation of mobile network architecture.

Both SDN and NFV, aggregated with the cloud, are being increasingly viewed as the building blocks of future service provider networks. Efficient management of network traffic, significant Opex and Capex savings, and automated management of increasingly complex network architectures are seen as the core value propositions behind their adoption.
Orchestration of complex network infrastructure in a virtualised paradigm, SK Telecom says, is one of several fundamental technologies which will help to enable 5G.
“Orchestration of integrated network services is a key for the next-generation 5G network. It is an essential technology to maximise efficiency and automation of an increasingly advanced and complex network, and revitalise a 5G network service ecosystem based on a user-centric, open network” said Park Jin-hyo, who heads up SK Telecom’s network technology R&D centre.
The emphasis on cloud-based orchestration is a cornerstone of the project, as Ericsson-LG CEO, Martin Wiktorin, elaborated: “To efficiently manage explosive growth in data traffic, flexible network operation is critical. We are very pleased to forge an R&D partnership with SK Telecom, which would help optimise use of communication networks and facilitate a transition towards a more flexible network”.
In July, Australian telco Telstra announced their partnership with Ericsson to trial NFV when applied to customer premises equipment, effectively reducing the amount of physical hardware required at the customer’s office or residency. The vCPE, or “virtual home gateway”, is intended to help customers to simplify their devices and hardware configuration at home.
In 2013, SK Telecom worked closely with NSN in one of the early NFV proof-of-concept trials. The PoC itself was designed to implement NFV within core network architecture, and showed successful results for capacity scaling for both throughput and signalling traffic in connection with smartphone usage patterns. If their aforementioned projects are anything to go by, an Ericsson/SK Telecom partnership should prove fruitful.

How long did you spend to learn Ifa?

I started learning from my father at the age of four. My father later gave me out to another priest who taught me. I stayed there for 10 years and six months. After that, I started learning from my father’s colleagues at different locations. I moved from Ilobu to Ede, Ibadan and Oyo to add to my knowledge of Ifa. Ifa knowledge is extended, so you continue to learn until you are dead.

Apart from Nigerians, do you have foreigners consulting Ifa through you?

As I said earlier, some of those who consult me are based abroad. They make telephone calls almost everyday. They send e-mails to me asking me to consult for them and to prepare sacrifices and to do other things for them. I have a lot of clients abroad.

Can you recollect any occasion when you were saved by Ifa?

There was a year I was invited to the University of Ibadan for a programme. On the day of the programme, I was set to go and I consulted Ifa to know how the outing would turn out but it was negative. I asked Ifa, “should I not go for the programme? And it said, no don’t go.” So, I cancelled the outing and stayed back indoors. The following day, somebody came and brought a newspaper and I read how those who attended the programme were beaten and molested. I couldn’t believe it; I had to fetch the invitation card to ascertain that the programme I was invited to attend was the one disrupted. I thanked Ifa because it saved my life that day.

Do you think that you could one day be converted to Islam or Christianity?

That one cannot happen. I have a deep understanding of the Bible and Quran and I also have a good understanding of Ifa but I cannot renounce Ifa. Christians and Muslims scare people with hell fire but I want you to listen to my CD on who will go to hell fire. They say that you will go to hell fire if you are not a Christian or a Muslim, but I am not afraid of hell fire because I am not a wicked person. I know what you can do that will take you to hell fire and I don’t do such things. What will now pursue me to be converted to Christianity or Islam? 

There is no problem that Ifa cannot solve. A lot of Christians, even pastors and Imams come to consult Ifa and use Ifa to solve their problems. But because we believe in fidelity, it is forbidden for me to start mentioning their names. It is confidential just like medical doctors don’t disclose the ailments of their patients to just anybody. Pastors and imams come to me and I prepare a lot of things for them. I use my Ifa knowledge to solve their problems. So, how am I supposed to go to them? Just this afternoon, a leader of a church came here wearing a native dress, you can’t know that he is a pastor but I know.

  Movie production in Nigeria started over fifty years ago with the likes of Latola Films and Calpeny Nigeria Limited anchoring the escapade. As far back as 1980, most movies produced in Nigeria were either short plays or culled from a book. The major difficulty was inadequate resources. Despite all of that, the Nigerian film industry thrived. It scurried away from one constraint to another until the birth of Nollywood –the umbrella body covering the movie industry in Nigeria. The name Nollywood was coined to resemble the big shots in the global industry –Hollywood and Bollywood which are the American film and the India film industries respectively.

Nearly every household in Nigeria and the rest of Africa now watch Nollywood movies more than Hollywood and Bollywood films. Some movie stars have become ‘semi-gods’ due to the huge fan base and the monetary rewards that accompany their roles in movies. Many of these celebrities came from humble backgrounds and have today become role models to millions of youth and fans around the globe. Some even have several millions of naira endorsement deals with multinational companies as the face of their products.

Just like their counterparts in the other subsectors of the entertainment industry, movie stars have huge investments and laudable assets. Many derive pleasure in living a flamboyant lifestyle defined by conspicuous spending. They drive around town in the most expensive automobiles and live in big mansions. Some of them have broadened their scope to become producers, directors, entrepreneurs and big time investors in real estate, fashion, film academy, hospitality, etc.

Controversial Nollywood actor, James Ikechukwu Esomugha, popularly known as Jim Iyke, who often plays bad boy roles in movies, is indubitably one of the biggest earners in the film industry and an ardent entrepreneur.

The Nollywood “James Bond” has been seen around his Abuja home driving exotic automobiles, including a Plymouth Prowler Convertible and a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible, both estimated at about ₦18 million. Last year, he launched his clothing line called, “Untamed Closet” which features clothing for teens and adults (both male and female). A multimillion-naira mall in Abuja (worth ₦90 million) was reportedly acquired to serve as “Untamed Closet” main store and headquarters.

Recently also, Jim Iyke signed a mega deal in faraway Gambia. Invest Gambia, an investment company in the Gambia, signed a multimillion dollar deal with the actor for the production of three movies. The new deal will probably be the most expensive Gambian film, as it aims at displaying to the outside world the investment and business opportunities that exist in the Gambia.

The deal was sealed after Jim Iyke was asked by the United Nations in May 2012, to select six less-privileged children who they will train in America. The six children would come from Somalia and the Gambia.

Like his notorious roles in movies, the tough-talking actor was allegedly involved in a ₦15 million share scam which eventually landed him in court. Jim Iyke was accused of defrauding an Abuja-based society lady, Habiba Abubakar, manager of Untamed Records Limited, by surreptitiously transferring 15% of the company’s equity shares to his personal account. Consequently, November last year, the police docked the Imo State born actor on a one count charge bothering on breach of trust, criminal force, assault, cheating and misappropriation. After several months in court, the Nollywood star was however discharged after an out-of-court agreement was reached with Mrs. Abubakar.

A Mexican woman has become the oldest human to have ever lived at the age of 127.
Leandra Becerra Lumbreras was said to have been born on August 31, 1887and according to her grand daughter, she said the secret to a long life is eating well, sleeping for days on end and never getting married.
Miss Lumbreras reportedly fought in the 1910-1917 Mexican Revolution as a leader of the 'Adelitas' women who went with their husbands to the battle front.
The former seamstress also has 73 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren.She already buried her five children and several of her 20 grandchildren - the last died in 2013 aged 90.
Her 43 year old grand daughter told Mexico's El Horizonte newspaper she is deaf and suffering form cataracts now..

Suspected Cultists Kill UNILAG Chief Security Officer At Akoka Bar

The Chief Security Officer of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Mr. Sunday Adejumo has been murdered by suspected cultists.

The incident took place at a beer parlour on Oyenuga Street, Akoka on Friday evening.

Sources say the CSO entered the bar with some new friends to down a couple of bottles of beer. As they sat and drank, some strange men armed with machete and guns came into the bar.

One of the men, according to witnesses, walked up to Adejumo and hit him in the chest. The suspect then shot him point blank range in the chest.

A resident of the area said the police picked up the bar proprietor.

He said, “The incident happened around 8.30pm on Friday. We suddenly heard gunshots and we all rushed into our different houses because we did not know what exactly happened.

“It was later we learnt that one of those in the beer parlour was killed.

“It was not a robbery because they did not steal anything or injure anybody else. Immediately they killed him, they left.”

Another witness said the suspects attempted to snatch the victim’s pathfinder.

“We don’t know exactly what their intention was. But there were blood stains on the car and the car key also had blood stains. We suspected they wanted to drive it away, but abandoned it when they saw it was not responding,” he said.

Police informants told reporters that the friends who accompanied the CSO to the bar had also been arrested.

A source said, “Since he had been going out to drink, he had never gone out with these friends. So, they are also suspects . Although one of them claimed to be injured during the incident, there may be more to it than meets the eye.”

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Lelma Kolle, stated, “Investigations revealed that the man parked his car a distance away from where he was drinking. The police also discovered that there was a blood stain on the car and the car key was found within the vicinity, also with blood stains. This can only mean that after they killed him, they attempted to go away with his car. They actually succeeded in opening the car because there were blood stains on the car seat. But the car did not move because of the security system in it.

“The owner of the bar has been arrested and he has made statements. We cannot categorically say whether this was a robbery or an assassination plot. The matter is still under investigation.”

WANDERFULLISH-Bus Preacher Beaten To Coma In Lagos After Condoms Fall From Bible.

A bus preacher was almost lynched on Saturday morning at Toyota Bus stop, in front of the popular Ladipo Spare parts market, when some condoms allegedly fell out of his bible as he preached the ‘Word of God’.

A source gathered that the self acclaimed Man of God was dragged out of the commercial bus and beaten into a pulp before he was rescued by some policemen.


According to information made available to our source, the Pastor had embarked on his journey from Apapa and proceeded to preach to the people on the bus, using very strong words like “If you wear trouser you’ll go to hell! The Devil invented Make up! Weave-on is from Marine Kingdom! If you have pre-marital sex you will burn in hell and your skin will peel!”

It was learnt that the people in the bus were so moved and some started falling under the anointing.

According to an eye witness, Mr. John Mbakogu, who was on his way to his shop at Ladipo, “People were just falling as he was laying hands. One man almost fell out of the bus under the influence of the Spirit. It was amazing until he raised his hands to cast the demons out of one girl, and 2 Durex condoms fell out”

“The angry men in the bus who had been having pangs of guilt due to the pastor’s preaching about sex suddenly got really angry and pounced on him, who all of a sudden started shouting, I also preach safe sex! Safe sex is good!”

However, Policemen had to be called to the scene to save the pastors life. So far 2 arrests have been made, and the Condoms have been kept as evidence.
