Va va voom: Henry has decided to retire from football after 20 years in the game |
Thierry Henry has
announced his decision to retire from football.
The 37-year-old, who left MLS side New York Red
Bulls earlier this month, was widely tipped to return to
Arsenal in some sort of coaching role - and may yet do so.
But in an announcement made early on Tuesday morning the Frenchman confirmed he has
hung up his boots after two decades at the very top of the game.
"After 20 years in the
game I have decided to retire from professional football," he said in a
statement on his own personal Facebook page

""It has been an
incredible journey and I would like to thank all the fans, team mates and
individuals involved with AS Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, the
New York Red Bulls and of course the French National Team that have made my
time in the game so special."
